The Highline Public Schools Human Resources Department is seeking a Peer Mentor to join our team of educators for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year!
SUMMARY: The Central Office Specialist is an accomplished teacher who serves in a leadership role at the system level. A specialist provides expert consultation through facilitating collaboration, instructional coaching, and serving as a system leader across a variety of roles. The Central Office Specialist sees their ongoing learning and development as essential to achieve equitable results for all students.

Ideal candidates possess intersectional content knowledge relevant to new teachers' assignments and a nuanced understanding of how to lead with an equity lens. Additionally, they understand the importance of inclusion in schools as a commitment to provide high quality instruction to all students.

You will join a multidisciplinary team of six teacher leaders with backgrounds including elementary, secondary, special education and bilingual education. As a team, we aim to continuously improve our practice by engaging in professional learning and data-rich inquiry practices. Our collective goal is to cultivate a supportive environment that allows beginning teachers to thrive by developing their professional skills through coaching, facilitating professional learning communities and advocacy in support of student success.
A peer mentor's work starts in August with organizing and implementing New Educator August Induction. In addition, peer mentors are expected to work up to 10 days supporting mentees in planning, preparation and setting up classrooms.
