We are currently seeking a Commercial Loan Processor. The ideal candidate will possess prior experience in a similar role and a strong background in commercial loan documentation. This position is based out of our Hastings location. If you meet these qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
Summary:
The primary function of the Commercial Loan Processor is to ensure the timely preparation and packaging of all commercial loans originated by loan officers. This role assists in the internal loan review process and implements bank policies in alignment with overall bank goals and objectives. All job responsibilities are performed in accordance with the core values and customer service standards set forth by Highpoint Community Bank.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Order and Review Due Diligence:
- Oversee the ordering and thorough review of due diligence materials, including appraisals, title work, flood certifications, UCC1 searches, and filings.
- Assist loan officers in clearing title policy exceptions.
- Gather and Input Loan Information:
- Collect all necessary information and accurately input loan data into the system for the preparation of loan documents.
- Ensure Complete and Accurate Documentation:
- Verify that all loan documentation is complete, accurate, verified, and compliant with the bank’s policies.
- Review Loan Approval and Pre-Closing Checklists:
- Ensure that all conditions outlined in the loan approval presentation and pre-closing checklist are met.
- Coordinate Loan Closing Activities:
- Facilitate loan closing activities, decisions, and communications.
- Prepare closing statements and ensure all fees (e.g., appraisal fees, commitment fees, and other closing fees) are included.
- Create and Image Loan Files:
- Manage the creation and imaging of loan files for accurate record-keeping.
- Customer Engagement:
- Periodically engage with customers and provide general assistance in the absence of loan officers.
- Invoice Processing:
- Submit third-party invoices for payment and processing.
- Request and Obtain Necessary Documents:
- Facilitate loan requests and annual loan reviews by obtaining the required documents.
- Clear Document Exceptions:
- Track and assist loan officers in clearing document exceptions in a timely manner.
- Final Title Policies:
- Follow up promptly and review final title policies.
- UCC Continuations:
- Ensure the timely processing of UCC continuations.
- Loan Collection Functions:
- Perform some non-complex loan collection functions as needed.
- Cross-Training & Additional Duties:
- Participate in cross-training in other areas of Loan Operations to ensure operational efficiency.
- Execute additional duties and assignments as designated by management.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial loan processing or a related field.
- Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in loan processing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of banking policies and procedures.
