Summary: Provides friendly, efficient, service and assistance to customers, handling all needs surrounding deposit products and services. Maintains positive relationships with customers as set by bank standards. Promotes and informs customers of all bank services. Balances the transactions each business day and provides for the security of assigned cash. Fully cross-trained to perform all platform duties.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Transaction Processing
- Process teller transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, transfers, and payments efficiently and accurately.
- Handle cash transactions securely and adhere to the bank’s cash handling policies.
- May maintain inventory of vault cash and its disbursement to other Tellers.
- Account Opening and Maintenance
- Assist customers with opening new checking, savings, and other deposit accounts.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with bank policies and regulatory requirements during account setup.
- Provide customers with information about account features, benefits, and electronic banking services.
- Ensure a positive customer experience by providing exceptional service in a professional and courteous manner.
- Meet or exceed personal and branch sales goals by cross-selling relevant bank products and services based on customer needs.
- Proactively follow up on customer leads and opportunities, building long-term relationships with clients.
- May control scheduling of Teller line.
- May mentor/sponsor newly hired Tellers.
- Adheres to bank policies/procedures in accordance with overall bank goals and objectives.
- Performs additional assignments as directed by Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years retail banking experience preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with a commitment to delivering excellent customer service are necessary. Above average typing and other clerical skills and knowledge of various computer functions is required. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of customer information. A professional attitude and appearance are necessary. A working knowledge of bank products and services and the ability to cross sell those products and services is essential. A background in bookkeeping or mathematics is helpful. Cash handling experience is preferred.
