We are currently seeking a Part-Time Teller that would work in our Nashville, Michigan office. The ideal candidate will have a passion for exceptional customer service and an ability to handle cash and transactions. If you meet these qualifications, we encourage you to apply.
Scheduled Hours
Your schedule will be between 20-28 hours per week with two to three weekdays from 9am-5pm and two to three Saturdays per month from 9am-12pm.
Summary of the Position
Provides friendly, efficient, positive service and assistance to customers by serving as a paying and receiving teller and accepting cash/non-cash transactions. Balances the transactions each business day and provides the security of assigned cash. Recognizes customers’ needs and makes appropriate referrals.
Principal Responsibilities
Serves organization’s customers with care and accuracy in processing a variety of transactions, such as the following:
- Receives and processes deposits/withdrawals to and from checking/savings accounts, cashes checks, and makes change for customers.
- Answers inquiries about customers’ depository accounts.
- Issues negotiable items and accepts coupon payments.
- Balances assigned cash daily and maintains strict adherence to security procedures and assigned cash limits.
- Recommends and suggests bank products and services based on customers’ needs.
- Meets minimum closed sales goals as set and reviewed by management.
- Attains a minimum of 95% on mystery shops.
- May serve as back-up for Head Teller.
- Adheres to bank policies and procedures in accordance with overall bank goals.
- Performs additional assignments as directed.
Candidate Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and three to six months training and experience are required for proper efficiency and execution. A pleasant, courteous personality, a focus on accuracy and patience to work with difficult customers are necessary. Knowledge of various computer functions is required. Incumbent must be able to maintain confidentiality of customer information. A professional attitude and appearance are necessary. A background in bookkeeping or mathematics is helpful. A working knowledge of bank products and services and the ability to refer and sell those products and services is essential. Cash handling experience is preferred.
