What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cardiology Assistant/EEG Tech position at Highpoint Health – Sumner?

Records EEG tracings. Performs a range of clerical duties related to the support of operations of the unit including updating and organizing information on the unit; coordinating work within the unit and with other units and departments; reporting relevant information to the supervisor; and responding to inquiries and requests from patients, visitors and caregivers.

Completion of facility EKG course within 6 months of employment in position

Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent - Required
EEG Training - Preferred

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Certifications:
BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) - Required within 30 days of hire, if not current upon hire.

Licenses: EEG Registered or State of Tennessee Polysomnography Licensure - Preferred

Minimum Work Experience
EEG training and/or (1) one year experience in the field - Preferred
Six (6) months experience in front office operations or customer service (reception, associate, clerk, etc.). Two (2) in a medical clinic, preferably in Primary Care or applicable desired
