Description
Supervises assigned functions within the Supply Chain Department. On a daily basis, is responsible for receiving supplies and equipment and routing stock items to designated inventory locations and non-stock items to the holding area where contents are verified and labeled with the correct delivery location. Incumbent is responsible for processing both manual and automated requisitions and computer generated picklists. Adhere to recommended inventory control procedures. Responsible for transporting supplies and equipment to and from assigned facilities / locations.
Reports to : Director of Supply Chain Management
Receives supplies and equipment and routes stock items to designated inventory locations and non-stock items to the holding area where contents are verified and labeled with the correct delivery location Processes both manual and automated requisitions and computer generated picklists Adhere to recommended inventory control procedures Deliver supplies and equipment promptly to user departments as requested Rotate stock each time a new shipment is received using the FIFO method Verify accuracy of incoming shipments and receive correct quantities into SMART Stock inventory shelves and verify that all chargeable supplies have procedure codes Check for outdated supplies and rotate stock when restocking supply rooms Assist in completing weekly cycle counts and verifying on-hand quantities Run local errands, including post office mail pick up and delivery, that require the use of a truck or van for pickups or deliveries. Make special runs in Middle TN area to pick up or deliver equipment, supplies, etc, as required Assist supply chain staff in organizing and completing daily work requirements Coordinate and participate as necessary to ensure timely deliveries to all departments at SRMC, and to TMC, RRMC, and all offsite locations, per predetermined schedules Assist Director in supervising team members relative to their daily performance. Maintain SMART files as they pertain to Inventories, par levels, receiving and distribution functions. Respond to and resolve receiving discrepancies on a daily basis Monitor and adjust par levels to appropriate levels for all unit storerooms managed by Supply Chain Management Assume a leadership role during physical inventories Monitor and maintain proper inventory levels by cycle counting, checking par levels, and monitoring the accuracy of receiving and distribution transactions Participate in meetings and rounding sessions and report identified issues / concerns along with recommended solutions to the Director of Supply Chain Management Assist Director of Supply Chain Management with special projects, as required Answers the telephone in a professional manner and directs calls or takes messages. Faxes and photocopies information as requested by staff. Provide daily assistance with general clean up duties in work area Must maintain a clean motor vehicle record.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent, or higher-level education - Required Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Skills
Licenses : Must posses a current Tennessee Driver’s License or State of residence. Minimum Work Experience
Experience working in a medical supply, inventory control or receiving environment - Required
1 year of experience in a management or supervisory position - Preferred
