Description
Performs various cardiovascular / vascular procedures including, but not limited to monitoring of diagnostic and interventional procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Assures proper radiation protection protocols.
Reports to : Assistant Director - Cath Lab
Qualifications
This position requires that the candidate be within 30 minute return to the hospital when on-call. Minimum Education
Graduate of a certificate or degree granting program or post-secondary educational program - Required
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Required Skills
Certifications :
Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification from an approved American Heart Association training center must be obtained within 90 days of employment, if not current upon hire. Required Skills
Licenses :
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) or Registered Radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) with a thorough working knowledge of practices and experiences in a Cardiac / Vascular Cath Lab. Minimum Work Experience
Three years Cath Lab / Special Procedures experience - Required
Must be able to perform all vascular / cardiac procedures involving the operation of imaging equipment including assisting the physician during the actual catheterization procedure.
