As a Registered Nurse in Emergency Services, I provide direct patient care utilizing the nursing process and collaborate with healthcare teams for optimal patient outcomes. My responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring patient conditions, and educating patients and families on care plans. With a focus on critical thinking and patient advocacy, I strive to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of my patients in a high-stress environment.
Description:
Direct Patient Care:
We provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.
Patient Monitoring and Reporting:
We monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Medication Administration:
We administer medications to patients as prescribed by physicians.
Clinical Treatments:
We perform plan of care intervention, including specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Patient Education:
We educate patients and families on care plans and provide information on various health topics.
Collaboration and Communication:
We collaborate as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Advocacy and Support:
We work as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Qualifications:
Minimum Education:
An Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree or RN Diploma is required.
Required Skills:
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision are required.
American Heart Association or American Red Cross Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 90 days of employment if not current upon hire, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of employment.
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) required within 6 months of employment. TNCC and ENPC certifications are preferred.
License:
A current TN or Multi-State RN licensure is required.
Minimum Work Experience:
Six months to one year experience as RN in an emergency setting is preferred.
