DevOps Engineer

Overview  

HighRes Biosolutions is seeking a talented DevOps Software Development Team. Reporting to the Director of Cloud Software, the ideal candidate has a background in cloud infrastructure, automation, and continuous integration/deployment practices. In this role, you play a critical role in streamlining and automating our development and deployment processes, ensuring smooth operations across development and production environments.

Responsibilities 

• Support the deployment, monitoring, and operational needs of a custom-developed enterprise application for a growing number of customers 

• Maintain and enhance several Infrastructure-as-Code software projects using good SDLC practices 

• Assist with the administration of cloud accounts and third-party services that are part of the application ecosystem 

• Communicate with the application development team daily and respond to their DevOps-related needs 

Qualifications

Technical Experience and Skills 

• Associate Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Information Technology required, Bachelors Degree preferred  

• 3 years of experience working in DevOps for a cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP) 

• Experience developing Infrastructure-as-Code using tools such as Terraform and Helm 

• Experience deploying and operating a Kubernetes cluster in a customer-facing production environment 

• Experience with one or more CI/CD pipeline tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or Bitbucket Pipelines 

• Familiarity with TCP/IP, SSL, VPN, tunneling, and other networking concepts. 

• Experience with the Azure cloud environment preferred 

• Traditional software development experience using .Net, Java, Python, or other common languages preferred 

Working Environment 

• Ability to work full time from a remote location unless you live near Beverly, MA 

• Eastern US daytime hours with occasional off-hours work for planned or unplanned downtime events 

• Comfortable working on a small team 

• Good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to collaborate with others to solve problems 

• Ability to work in a dynamic environment with changing customer needs and priorities
