Job Summary:

 

Project Manager, Operations, is responsible for proactively leading multiple cross-functional projects within the operations department.  This position will be responsible for the planning, reporting, execution, and completion of critical of business projects ensuring consistent with operations and sourcing strategic commitments, and goals while ensuring the projects are delivered on time and on budget.  Additionally, this position is to provide project management expertise that will enable the business to grow, develop and effectively run projects. This includes optimizing the project management methodologies via training and coaching, the development of and maintenance of new tools and processes and sharing best practices across functions.  

 

 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:  

 

  • Leads highly visible operations project management activity and regularly reports to upper management on the status of projects.
  • Manage projects related to operations, cost savings initiatives, supplier moves and sourcing initiatives with significant impact to the business.
  • Leads the core project teams by providing the necessary training and facilitating team activities for planning, decision-making and problem-solving.
  • Collect and analyze performance of the projects by collecting data for key metrics and reporting out the performance.
  • Be the process expert by incorporating and supporting processes and tools that are used to identify, prioritize and select opportunities/projects for optimal value and strategic alignment.
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Project management and operations expertise
    1. Broad knowledge of operations and supply chain processes with strong technical expertise in process validation, design verification activities and risk files.
    2. Demonstrated ability to consistently work through multiple issues across several projects at once by capitalizing on available resources and prioritizing accordingly.
    3. Exemplifies a proactive solutions-oriented approach to identifying and mitigating project roadblocks to avoid delays and implements strategies to bring in timelines and keep them on track.
    4. Competency in financial concepts such as building a business case and managing a project budget.
  • Problem solving skillset
    1. Able to take action in solving problems and making decisions in evolving situations while exhibiting judgment and a realistic understanding of issues, able to use reason, even when dealing with emotional topics or ambiguity.
    2. Demonstrated creativity in developing innovative solutions and leveraging available resources to overcome challenges.
  • Leadership and influence
    1. Demonstrated ability to lead and coach process improvements through cross-functional teams by listening and utilizing influence skills.
    2. Emits a level of confidence and expertise to effectively influence actions and opinions of others (internally/externally) in a desired direction, to exhibit judgment in leading others to worthwhile objectives.
    3. Ability to establish relationships quickly with a broad range of constituents and possess a collaborative style to work effectively throughout the organization.
  • Communication skillset
    1. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) in a clear and concise manner utilizing compelling visual aids/tools.
    2. Competent with executive-level and stakeholder management communication in a global company.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, analytical field or related science required.
  • 4 years of experience in managing projects.
  • Experience working in a medical device regulated environment required.
  • Individual must be a motivated self-starter with the ability to work both independently and cross-functionally.
  • Proven track record of active project management across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proven track record of sound cross-functional actions and decisions impacting the business process and company results.
  • Experience with ERP systems (SAP preferred).
  • Must be proficient in MS Office Applications.
  • Experience with Power BI preferred.
  • Project Manager training preferred .

 

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 15%
