Hightower Advisors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and a passion for protecting digital assets. This role focuses on operational cybersecurity, including monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems.

What You’ll Do
Hightower Advisors is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Cybersecurity Analyst to join our cybersecurity team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of cybersecurity principles and a passion for protecting digital assets. This role focuses on operational cybersecurity, including monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents to ensure the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our information systems.
- Monitor Security Systems:
- Continuously monitor and analyze security systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and security information and event management (SIEM) tools.
- Identify and respond to security incidents, alerts, and anomalies in real-time.
- Incident Response:
- Assist in the identification, investigation, and resolution of security incidents.
- Document incidents and contribute to post-incident analysis and reporting.
- Vulnerability Management:
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and scans on IT systems and applications.
- Assist in the prioritization and remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
- Security Policy Compliance:
- Ensure adherence to organizational security policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist in conducting internal audits to verify compliance with security policies.
- User Support and Education:
- Provide support to end-users regarding security best practices and issues.
- Assist in the development and delivery of cybersecurity awareness training programs.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of security incidents, configurations, and procedures.
- Prepare regular reports on security status, incidents, and trends.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 1 year of work experience or prior Cybersecurity internship(s)
- Strong understanding of fundamental cybersecurity concepts
- Understanding or experience with agile methodologies
- Broad understanding of the role various cyber security solutions
- Ability and desire to learn new technologies quickly and independently
