We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment/Diesel Technician with a strong background in commercial trucks (Class 8 semi-trucks and larger commercial vehicles), cranes, and construction equipment. This role is critical in maintaining our fleet and ensuring operations run at peak performance.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain diesel-powered heavy equipment, commercial trucks, cranes, winches, loaders, and excavators
  • Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, and safety inspections
  • Troubleshoot and repair engines, hydraulic systems, transmissions, and electrical components
  • Use diagnostic tools to assess and resolve mechanical issues efficiently
  • Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with FMCSA and safety regulations
  • Perform field service repairs when equipment cannot be transported to the shop
  • Manage parts inventory and assist with ordering necessary components
  • Help develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for the fleet
  • Ensure proper handling and disposal of fluids and hazardous materials

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience working on heavy equipment and commercial trucks (Class 8 semi-trucks and larger commercial vehicles)
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems
  • CDL Class A license required
  • Proficiency in diagnostic tools and reading schematics
  • Certifications in Diesel Repair (ASE T1-T8 preferred)
  • Heavy Equipment Certifications (NCCER, CAT, Komatsu, etc. – a plus)
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work Saturdays (one weekday off provided in exchange)
  • Willingness to travel overnight (1-2 nights per week) as needed

Lexington, NC (This position is location-based with occasional travel required.)
