Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, knowledgeable and experienced Safety Director to oversee and enhance our workplace safety programs. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety policies that comply with regulatory standards while fostering a culture of safety within the organization. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying hazards, conducting training, and ensuring that all employees adhere to safety protocols.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive safety training programs for employees at all levels.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Perform root cause analysis on incidents to determine underlying issues and develop corrective actions.
- Manage workers' compensation claims and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Collaborate with management to create a culture of safety through effective communication and training initiatives.
- Prepare detailed reports on safety performance metrics, incidents, and compliance status.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of occupational health standards, first aid procedures, CPR techniques, and workers' compensation law.
- Fabricate solutions to address identified safety concerns in the workplace.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a safety management role or similar position within a Construction Company (5 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations (1926) and occupational health standards. (OSHA 500, OSHA 510)
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred.
- Experience in training development and delivery is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation processes and laws is essential.
- Strong analytical skills for conducting root cause analysis of incidents.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments to promote a safe working environment.
- Some electrical construction background preferred but not required.
