Operates yard tractor to position trailers on/off cleaning rack for cleaning. Operates cleaning equipment such as spinners, chain hoists, pumps, valves, power washers, brushes, hand tools, etc. necessary to properly clean interior and exterior of tank trailers, product pumps, and hoses. Will work in confined space and handle both hazardous and no-hazardous chemicals. Makes job assignments to other tank cleaning employees and supervises/directs their work.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operates yard tractor to position trailers on/off cleaning rack for cleaning.
  • Performs proper mixing of chemicals for cleaning.
  • Complies with all safety rules and regulations.
  • Wears all safety equipment required.
  • Cleans and checks pumps for cleanliness. Install bags on pump inlet and outlets.
  • Checks exterior of trailers for cleanliness and cleans as needed.
  • Legibly completes cleaning tickets and other required paperwork.
  • Operates water treatment equipment within federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Handles all waste streams within federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Responsible for daily/shift operation of tank wash.
  • Organizes daily tank cleaning.
  • Sees that proper procedures are followed.
  • Reports necessary information to immediate supervisor.
  • Ensures Rae gas meters are utilized for confined space entries.
  • Ensures 3M supplied air system is calibrated and used accordingly.
Education/Experience/Licenses/Certifications
  • 3 years’ experience working in a tank wash.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
Skills Required:
  • Demonstrates and promotes excellent customer service (external/internal)
  • Communicates in a proficient manner to external/internal customers.
  • Shows initiative in increasing professional and personal skills.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
The following physical abilities, environments and equipment may be met during a typical working day:
  • Normal environment is outdoors.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Pushing pulling up to 50 to 100 lbs.
  • Confined space entry is required.
  • Must wear proper PPE.
