Job Summary
The Senior Project Engineer (Sr. PE) is a critical team member responsible for leading project engineering efforts while supporting project management and field operations. This role builds upon foundational project engineering experience and expands into leadership, financial tracking, scheduling, and subcontractor coordination. The Sr. PE gains exposure to both the Project Manager (PM) and Superintendent career paths, developing the skills necessary to advance into either role. The position also involves active participation in professional development, networking, and industry engagement.
The Sr. PE reports to Project Managers, Superintendents, and other departmental leaders based on the project and assignments. This role requires a combination of office and fieldwork to ensure projects are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities
- Manages all project engineering duties including managing RFI’s, Submittals, drawing coordination, writing meeting min. and project correspondence.
- Plays an active role in maintaining a safe and secure job site.
- Obtain relevant certifications and pursue additional education to enhance expertise.
- Communicate and establish a desired career path toward Project Management or Superintendent roles.
- Engage in Lump Sum Bid Process and Construction Manager at Risk (CMR) pursuits.
- Develop an understanding of various scheduling methods including Pursuit Schedule, Bid Schedule, Milestone Schedule, Construction Schedule.
- Assist in jobsite coordination, subcontractor field management, and site inspections.
- Assist with Monthly Dashboards, tracking key project performance indicators.
- Support the Subcontractor Evaluation Process, ensuring performance standards are met.
- Manage and track punch lists, ensuring follow-through on completion items.
- Assist in compiling Job History Reports and Case Study Reports for project documentation.
- Support Profit & Loss (P&L) reporting, invoice approval, and pay application processing.
- Learn and utilize construction software for project financials, reporting, and cost management.
- Lead quality control efforts to ensure compliance with project specifications.
- Review and track change orders, ensuring proper documentation and approval.
- Conduct and facilitate Foreman’s Meetings to align trade partners and project objectives.
- Manage subcontractor field coordination to maintain project timelines and efficiency.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Demonstrates excellence in personal work habits.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with a commitment to professional development.
- Proficiency in construction scheduling, budgeting, and change management.
- Ability to analyze and track financial reports, subcontractor performance, and project costs.
- Competency in construction software, with a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
- Problem-solving mindset, with a proactive approach to challenges and project efficiencies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2-4 years of experience in project engineering, construction management, or related roles.
