Who We Are
We are currently seeking a Finance Manager 3 for a new market expansion project upon contract award. The selected candidate will work in the Newport News, VA area.
The Finance Manager is responsible for providing senior leadership team with timely financial and operational analysis to facilitate sound business decisions. Focuses on the strategic plan, budgeting, monthly forecasting and consolidated financial reporting. Conducts and documents financial analysis projects, data gathering, manipulation, summarization, and analysis of financial reports, sales activity, trends and opportunities. Interacts with all levels of management as well as other functional organizations including contracts, program and projects, accounts receivable, subcontract management and procurement as necessary to resolve problems and provide accurate, timely, user-friendly reports on program and project status. Suggests changes to processes and procedures to improve quality, efficiency, and internal and external customer service.
What You Will Do
- Performs and analyzes financial modeling, economic research, trends and studies subjects such as rates of return, depreciation, working capital, cash flow, investments, actual cost against budget, variance analysis, forecasting, and financial planning and expense comparisons by analysis of profit and loss statements and/or income statements.
- Prepares reports of findings and recommendations, compiles and consolidates financial plans and provides insights to management.
- Develops, maintains, and establishes operational specifications for financial information systems considering such things as information flow, volume, ad hoc reporting, and analysis.
- May provide analysis on business development and monitors business performance.
- Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information and prepares all financial reports.
- Maintains or oversees the control of accounts and records in such areas as disbursements, expenses, tax payments, and income.
- Compiles and analyzes financial information to record transactions, prepare reports, and review and verify accuracy.
- Prepares balance sheet, profit and loss and cash flow statements, prepares and consolidates financial statements, and other accounting schedules and reports.
- Designs, modifies, implements and/or maintains accounting systems to ensure an adequate recognition of financial transactions.
- Responsible for the adherence to and communication of accounting and auditing policies and procedures and internal controls.
What You Must Have
- 8 years relevant progressive experience with Bachelors in related field; 6 years relevant progressive experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 12 years relevant progressive experience.
- Candidate must have experience with FARs/DFARs/SOX/GAAP
- Candidate must have experience with Deltek Costpoint
- Candidate must have strong MS Office skills/Advanced MS Excel skills
- Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a confidential clearance

- Experience working in or exposure to Fed Gov, DoD, of Gov Agency environment.
