Job Description
Join our Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Team! The position will support FMS system engineering, development, maintenance, and general engineering support requirements. The selected candidate will support the SBEDS FMS Team by providing procurement support to SBEDS FMS engineering efforts. Selected candidate will work closely with government and contractor team members to plan procurement of hardware, software, software Licenses, and other equipment in support of FMS and
coalition work executed by a government customer. Your accomplishments will make a positive impact supporting the U.S. Navy SBEDS FMS efforts and America’s national defense! Travel within and outside of the continental United States may be required.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Create, input, and track procurement requests through government processes.
- Support sourcing, purchasing, planning, and scheduling the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods and related material through production and inventory process.
- Supports identification of raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.
- In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
- Supports government customer reviews of proposals, price negotiations, selection or recommendation of suppliers, trend analyses, follows up on orders placed, and maintains necessary records of material movement throughout manufacturing and inventory cycle(s).
- Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1-year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.
- Must have knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and/or Defense Federal Acquisition Regulations (DFAR).
- Experience/Knowledge in procurement database and material movement within.
- Experience with government purchasing.
Preferred Requirements
- Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards.
- General application of concepts, and principles.
