Job Description
Responsible for daily operations of a team or work unit (direct supervision of the staff, assignment of work, schedules, day to day workflow, and operating costs). Assignments are received in task-oriented terms. Provides direction to subordinates using established policies and precedents. Monitors work operations of exempt and / or non-exempt employees on a daily basis and actively assists or provides direction to subordinates as required. Executes department procedures that typically affect individual employees within own department. Policy management : Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Monitors daily operations of a unit and actively assists, or provides direction to, subordinates as required. Ensures that projects are completed on schedule following established procedures and schedules.
Additional common management responsibilities as listed in Shipbuilding Management Charter 0001 within command media (SBMC 0001) and applicants should review the Charter and policies and procedures before applying for position.
- Experience in the Cost and Schedule accountability, and the ability to organize priorities to meet major events.
- Demonstrated basic computer skills are required.
- Must be able to read a blueprint.
- Must have ability to enter confined spaces, stooping, crawling, bending, climbing ladders and stairs when required.
