What are the responsibilities and job description for the HIL - Groundskeeper position at Hiland Dairy Foods?
The Groundskeeper is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
The successful applicant will be responsible for keeping the properties surrounding the plant neat and clean. In order to accomplish this task he or she will make use of lawn mowers, weed eaters, other power tools, rakes, shovels, brooms, and other hand tools. He or she will pick up trash hose down walks and clean pits as well as perform many other tasks involved in the proper maintenance of the grounds. As such some past experience working with lawn care equipment and hand tools is preferred.
Working outdoors, he or she will need to be a self-starter and able to work without direct supervision. Must be able to work in differing extreme conditions throughout the year.
The successful applicant will need to be able to work well with others and coordinate activities with other departments and supervisors.
He or she will be required to operate and be familiar with power equipment.
He or she will be required to climb, crawl, and walk in an upright as well as a bent position to facilitate the proper maintenance of the grounds. He or she will be required to work in very hot (100 degrees) and very cool (less than 32 degrees) environments throughout the year. He or she will also be required to work outside, in whatever the conditions are, most of the time.
