The Hilb Group is currently seeking a motivated and ambitious Employee Benefit Advocate to join our team. This position will report to our agency located in Cranston, RI. The ideal candidate will be motivated to succeed, is well organized, able to prioritize, and able to work well with a team. This is an in-office position.
Responsibilities:
- Assist employees and their family members with benefit-related inquiries, including eligibility, enrollment, wellness plans, and life events.
- Provide support in resolving claims issues, appeals, billing discrepancies, and payment plans with healthcare providers.
- Guide employees on insurance carrier website access, password assistance, and medical management services.
- Connect individuals with prescription drug discount resources and help them find in-network providers.
- Act as a liaison between employees and insurance carriers to facilitate fair and timely resolutions to complex issues.
- Refer employees with chronic conditions or complicated medical concerns to appropriate carrier resource for specialized assistance.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations, obtaining necessary authorizations when required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of interactions and follow up on outstanding issues to ensure resolution.
Qualifications:
- Education – High school diploma required; some college level coursework preferred.
- Certification – Must obtain and maintain active Life/Accident and Health Insurance Agent License
- Experience: 1-3 years in a client service, benefits administration, or account management role.• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written—you’re great at explaining complex topics clearly.• Exceptional relationship-building, time management, and organizational abilities.• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and provide meaningful insights.• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with experience using Agency Management Systems.• Knowledge of group benefits administration, medical/dental/vision plans, and consumer-driven health products (HRA, FSA, HSA) is a plus!• Proficiency in using customer support systems and documentation tools.• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements.
