Position Responsibilities
Work in cooperation with Manufacturing Supervisor to ensure injection molding presses and secondary operations are set up to our engineering specifications.
Essential Functions
PRIMARY:
Responsible for all aspects of the injection molding and value added processes including, but not limited to, set-up and tear down, troubleshooting, equipment maintenance, and work flow.
Working with production personnel and engineering to ensure molded components meet requirements, making adjustments as required
Monitor KPI’s and assure scrap goals, machines efficiency goals, and production schedule are being executed to support customer demands.
Leader in supporting our MedAccred and IATF standards by operating within and following procedures.
Managing raw molding materials in a way that ensures traceability and prevents contamination.
Inventory: Confirm shot weight matches BOM, all purges are recorded and counted, and all scrap is documented and recorded for accurate inventory levels.
Track down time to ensure die sets and material changes are properly planned and completed within the allowed period.
Support supervisors with making sure all production reporting, dies sets sheets, and material logs are accurate and completely filled out
Knowledge of valve gates and hot runner systems

Work with developing die setters and material handlers
Report all variance and recommend solution to your direct supervisor for correcting any delay in production or process issues.
Help keep the facility clean, neat and orderly (Machines, Shipping, and Warehouse).
Report any indication of machine or mold problems.
Accept responsibility for control of the quality of all parts manufactured on your specific shift.
Ensure adherence to ISO [Quality and Environmental], IATF 16949, and MedAccred procedures and work instructions.
Commitment to continuous effort and education.
Willingness to support overtime as needed. Covering different shifts when technical support is on vacation or sick and weekends as needed

Responsible for all aspects of the injection molding and value added processes. Daily monitor our established KPI’s to ensure scrap, machine efficiency, labor efficiency, Internal RPPM, Cleanliness, Unscheduled down time, etc. meet the companies’ objectives. Directly responsible for developing die setters and material handlers by supporting the supervisor and overseeing the setting of molds and drying of materials to previously established standards and guidelines. Responsible for supporting and insuring customer needs are met through the production of quality parts while meeting production schedule in a timely manner.
SECONDARY:
Assist with mold changes/material handling
Assist in Shipping/Receiving
Assist with sample as requested
Assist in inventory control on shop floor
Assist in training of material handlers, die setters, and operators
May fill in for supervisor as needed (upon completion of training)
Capable of filling out End of Shift Report
Other Tasks as assigned
Required Education and Experience
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent and must pass basic injection molding test with minimum of 90% correct. Associate degree in Injection Molding Technology or a BA in Manufacture Engineering is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in an injection molding technical position. Proven ability to set up injection molding presses, program robots, and trouble shoot process.
ADDED VALUE:
Experience in a medical device-manufacturing environment. Experience with P.M. molds, repairing minor mold issues (springs, ejector pins), supported engineering samples, and has participated in or been part of a DOE’s and continuous improvement efforts. Demonstrated ability to work with people. Able to demonstrate a complete understanding of multiple injection molding materials.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
