Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Business Development Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth and expanding our market presence through strategic planning and effective customer relationship management. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a deep understanding of the market, and experience with software tools such as Salesforce to manage sales processes efficiently. Improve Hilite International’s market position and achieve profitable revenue growth for North America through prospecting with current and new clients. Focus is 100% on selling Hilite’s products that serve our strategic development in new markets.
Responsibilities
1. Bench marking of competitor’s current and future technology.
2. Understanding and communication of current and future product/customer market through the use of business intelligence.
3. Using knowledge of the market and competitors, develop a business marketing plan which will identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators.
4. Attend industry functions, such as events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and trends.
5. Prospect for potential new clients and turn this into increased business.
6. Cold call as appropriate within Hilite’s market to ensure a robust pipeline of opportunities. Meet potential clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging current network.
7. Identify potential clients, and the decision makers within the client organization.
8. Research and build relationships with new clients.
9. Coordinate meetings between client decision makers and Hilite’s Engineering teams.
10. Develop sales approaches and pitches. Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to client’s needs, concerns and objectives.
11. Lead development of quotes and presentations to be shared with the perspective customers.
12. Handle objections by clarifying, emphasizing agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion. Utilize a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
13. Market new products and solutions to current clients.
14. Participate in internal and external client debriefs.
15. Confer with customers and engineers to assess product needs and to determine system requirements.
16. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products.
17. Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including request for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
18. Sell products requiring extensive technical expertise and support for system application.
19. Present to and consult with mid and senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
20. Develop, present, and secure sales contracts for products.
21. Document account activities, generate reports, and keep records of business transactions with customers.
22. Maintain sales forecasting reports.
23. Other duties as assigned.
Experience
- A bachelor’s degree preferably in electrical or mechanical engineering is required; an MBA is preferred. Extensive product development engineering background in the automotive industry. Requires a minimum of five years of sales and/or marketing experience.
