Job Summary:
Responsible for all aspects of the Cosmetology program, including the organization, administration, continuous review, planning, development, and general effectiveness of the program. Prepares and disseminates information and/or status reports on activities within the program including an annual program review and plans for the following year.
Minimum Required Education:
- Associate degree and TDLR-issued Cosmetology Operator and Instructor License.
Minimum Required Experience:
- Preferred: Experience teaching in higher education within the instructional area being taught.

Required Knowledge:

Essential Job Functions:
- Formulates and recommends policies related to the development, operation, and expansion of instructional programs.
- Assists the Dean of Health & Public Service with managing a detailed budget of the program.
- Work closely with faculty to develop, and revise courses and curricular.
- Plans, develops, implements, evaluates, and schedules cosmetology classes.
- Acts as a resource person and aids faculty in finding answers to instructional or curricular problems.
- Provides appropriate information and/or status reports on activities within the program area or department, including but not limited to program area accomplishments during the year and plans for the following year.
- Maintains current version of departmental syllabi, as appropriate.
- Teaches classes as assigned and carry out all duties of the college instructor.
- Working knowledge of the Academic Course Guidelines Manual (ACGM), Workforce Education Course Manual (WECM), and Guidelines for Instructional Programs in Workforce Education (GIPWE).
Other Information:
- Serves on faculty and standing committees as requested.
- Travel between campuses as needed.
- Valid Texas Driver’s License
