Residential Construction Estimator

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of construction processes. This role is crucial for ensuring that projects are estimated accurately, allowing for effective budgeting and successful project execution. The Construction Estimator will work closely with project managers, contractors, and clients to provide precise cost estimates and negotiate contracts.

Duties

• Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, and equipment.
• Collaborate with project management teams to develop comprehensive project budgets.
• Conduct site visits to assess construction site conditions and gather necessary data for estimates.
• Utilize construction software such as BuilderTrend and QuickBooks to streamline the estimation process.
• Negotiate pricing with suppliers and subcontractors to secure the best possible rates.
• Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Prepare detailed reports outlining estimated costs, including breakdowns of labor, materials, and overhead.
• Maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors to facilitate future negotiations and contracts.
• Stay updated on industry trends, pricing changes, and new materials or methods that may affect estimating.

Requirements

• Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
• Proficiency in construction software, particularly BuilderTrend.
• Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to secure competitive pricing.

• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate cost assessments.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Knowledge of cost control measures within the construction industry.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $62,400.00 - $100,000.00 per year
