Job Description
We are seeking a motivated PreOp/PACU/Circulator to join our team at Hill Country Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Responsibilities:
- Pre-Operative Duties:
- Assess patients' health status and ensure accurate identification wristbands.
- Verify operative and informed consents.
- Determine the surgeon and procedure being performed.
- Take and record vital statistics of patients to ensure readiness for surgical procedures.
- Initiate IVs and inform patients about the procedure and attending medical staff.
- Post-Operative Duties:
- Assess patients' condition after surgery has been performed.
- Evaluate all vitals to ensure they are within normal range.
- Log all findings in patients' files.
- Answer patients' questions and ensure they are kept comfortable.
- Monitor patients for condition changes and report any changes to the doctor.
- Initiate patient education programs to educate patients and families on procedures and medications.
- Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies.
- OR Circulating Duties:
- Assist with equipment setup and maintenance.
- Serve as a patient advocate and ensure patient safety at all times.
- Assist with positioning patients.
- Monitor patients' conditions throughout the entire surgical process and respond quickly to any changes.
- Maintain a sterile field at all times.
- Exhibit skillful clinical judgment and assessment skills.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Current Texas Nursing License.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Certifications:
- Current CPR, ACLS, and BLS certifications.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2-year experience in a hospital setting or ASC setting.
