Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and patient concerns.
- Administer immunizations, medications, and perform basic laboratory tests per provider instructions.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
- Schedule patient appointments, verify insurance, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans and follow-up care.
- Manage patient flow efficiently to minimize wait times.
- Support coding processes for accurate medical record keeping.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure compliance with FQHC and state regulations, including infection control and safety protocols.
- Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare providers and clinic leadership.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Proficiency in performing vital signs and basic clinical procedures.
- Familiarity with outpatient care settings.
- Knowledge of coding practices is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and team members.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent is desirable but not mandatory.
