Status: Full-Time / Exempt
Schedule: Monday-Wednesday 8:00am to 8:00pm
Salary Range: $80,000 - $94,000
Position Summary:
The Mobile Crisis Behavioral Health Clinician provides immediate, in-person crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services to individuals experiencing behavioral health emergencies within our community. As a core team member of our CCBHC and FQHC behavioral health response, the clinician collaborates with law enforcement, emergency departments, and community partners to support individuals in acute distress and connect them to ongoing care and recovery services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct face-to-face psychiatric assessments and crisis evaluations in community settings (homes, schools, clinics, streets).
- De-escalate crisis situations using trauma-informed, culturally competent, and evidence-based practices.
- Determine appropriate level of care and make referrals to outpatient, inpatient, detox, or shelter services as needed.
- Coordinate closely with primary care teams, case managers, peer support specialists, and psychiatric team within the FQHC and CCBHC framework.
- Provide follow-up support to ensure stabilization and connection to treatment services.
- Document all services in a timely and thorough manner using EHR per clinical and billing standards.
- Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation as assigned.
- Engage in community outreach, education, and stigma-reduction activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related behavioral health field.
- Current California license or registration (LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, ASW, AMFT, APCC).
- Experience in crisis intervention, mobile response, or emergency behavioral health settings preferred.
- Knowledge of co-occurring disorders, trauma-informed care, and recovery-oriented systems.
- Valid California driver’s license and ability to travel to field locations.

- Commitment to serving vulnerable populations including individuals with serious mental illness (SMI), substance use disorders (SUD), and individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Comfort working independently in community settings.
- Familiarity with Medi-Cal documentation and CCBHC program requirements a plus.
