Job Title: Transportation Assistant – Vocational Services Support
Department: Community Programs
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Schedule/Location: Monday-Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, Round Mountain, CA
Position Summary:
The Transportation Driver provides safe and timely transportation services to clients participating in vocational and supportive services programs. Working closely with the Vocational Case Manager, the driver ensures clients can attend job training, interviews, medical appointments, and other program-related activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide reliable, courteous, and safe transportation for clients to and from designated appointments and program activities.
- Assist clients entering and exiting the vehicle, including those with mobility challenges.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, mileage, fuel use, and client interactions per program and HIPAA guidelines.
- Support Case Management services with light administrative duties, including but not limited to coordinating services, scheduling appointments, and assisting with program activities.
- Promote a respectful, supportive environment for all clients, treating them with dignity and cultural sensitivity.
- Follow all agency, local, and state driving and safety regulations.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid California Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- At least one year of experience driving passengers in a professional or volunteer capacity, preferably in a healthcare, social services, or community-based setting. Social services experience is preferred. Case Management experience is a plus.
- CPR/First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire).
- Experience working with diverse populations, including individuals with physical, mental health, or substance use conditions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable, punctual, ability to maintain consistent attendance and adherence to schedule is required.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and uphold client privacy.
- Knowledge of the local service area and rural roads preferred.
Working Conditions:
- A company vehicle will be provided.
- Driving in varied weather and rural road conditions.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
