Help us help others:
We are searching for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) who will support physicians and nurse practitioners by collecting vital signs, documenting medical histories, and detailing individual’s physical and mental status and needs. The CMA will coordinate and maintain medical, discharge, and authorization records while maintaining HIPPA compliance and confidentiality. This compassionate, caring, and supportive team member will connect with individuals to provide optimum healthcare and contribute to the overall wellbeing of members of the community living with mental health challenges.
You will get to:
- Assist with prescription refills and prior authorizations to ensure medications are provided.
- Administer medication injections.
- Monitor self-administration of medication.
- Maintain inventory of medications and medical supplies.
- Write and document articulately while using correct grammar so that documentation is clear and valuable.
- Maintain compliance with all security and infectious control measures.
- Educate and instruct individuals served.
More Specifics:
You’ll definitely need:
- High school diploma, GED, or competency test with 3 letters of recommendation.
- To complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training.
- Have graduated from an approved school for Medical Assistants
- A Valid National Certification for Medical Assistant (NCMS) to practice in the State of Texas.
- To maintain a valid Texas State Driver’s License.
- To have current automobile insurance and the ability to travel to individuals when necessary
We’ll also want you to:
- Employ excellent verbal and written communication skills to engage with team and individuals in care.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Sustain a calm demeanor when under pressure to handle sometimes difficult situations.
- Provide exemplary customer service and care to individuals with their best interest at heart.
- Complete and maintain both CPR certification and Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behavior training.
