Job Description
An experienced and skilled mainframe developer with strong proficiency in Natural programming languages. Must have extensive and proven experience as a Natural developer and an in-depth understanding of mainframe systems. The candidate will provide support for development, architecture, and overall administration for projects and for mainframe operations. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues. Design, develop and maintain Mainframe Natural programs and Job Control Language (JCL) to meet project and operational needs. Be part of project and operations teams to develop necessary analysis and documentation in a collaborative way. Adhere to change control processes and procedures defined by agency. Interface with business and Information Technology (IT) teams to understand business needs and translate requirements into formal technical requirements and application code. Together with application users, identity the possibility of the automation of existing manual processes through the data integration of mainframe and external (non-mainframe) systems. Work with IT support teams to ensure support and project requirements are developed and implemented successfully. Develop and execute unit test and system test plans to validate that application changes meet technical specifications. Responsible for full System Development Life Cycle. Develop or assist-in developing test plans and test activities and / or execute test components to ensure new programs meet business requirements and function as needed. Review and assist in reviewing documentation and performing quality assurance to ensure compliance with program requirements and procedural standards for the assigned project. Maintain a reliable and predictable work schedule. Worker may be requested to work outside of normal business hours to sustain operations or complete urgent assignments. Perform other duties as assigned to maintain operations.
