Veterinary Technician
We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our passionate team at Hill Country Veterinary Hospital in Bandera, TX. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in a veterinary setting, with a strong background in surgery, patient care, phlebotomy skills, X-rays, and client education.
Responsibilities:
- Surgery Assistance: Assist veterinarians in surgical procedures, including preparation, monitoring, and post-operative care.
- Patient Care: Provide high-quality care and attention to animals, ensuring their comfort, cleanliness, and well-being.
- Phlebotomy Skills: Proficient in blood collection techniques and handling of laboratory samples.
- X-Ray Operation: Assist the doctor with positioning of the animal and operating digital x-ray machine and moving copies by email
- Client Education: Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing guidance on proper animal care, medications, and post-treatment instructions per hospital protocol.
- Availability: Weekdays
Monday – Friday 7:45 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. -Lunch break -1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Veterinary Technician/ Assistant.
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician preferred.
- Proficient in surgical assistance, patient care, phlebotomy, X-ray operation, and client education.
- Excellent communication skills with both clients and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle challenging situations with composure.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
