Hill HR is looking to hire an experienced Escrow Closer for a full service real estate Title Company to join their growing and winning team in the Oxford, MS market. Our client provides a full range of title and settlement services. They provide statewide title searches, title insurance, closing and escrow services and are at the forefront of advancing best practice policies and procedures to protect consumers, while ensuring a positive and compliant real estate settlement experience.
JOB SUMMARY
The Escrow Closer is responsible for advanced duties related to all facets of escrow processing. This position is required to exercise extreme independent judgment and to possess the knowledge and experience necessary to efficiently handle any situation that may arise during the escrow process. This position must have an established book of business or be able to establish a book of business within a reasonable amount of time to meet given performance standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages all files of the office
- Review of Title Work for Issuance of Title Insurance Commitment
- Prepares HUDs, CDs, Closing Statements and other closing related statements
- Completes grant deeds, quitclaim deeds, notes, deeds of trust, requests for notice, subordination agreements, financing statements, affidavits, underwriter prescribed documents, and the like
- Works with the title department in resolving issues (e.g., legal descriptions, easements, lot splits, vesting, federal tax liens, abstracts of judgment, bankruptcies, boundary disputes, and encroachments)
- Review of lender documents before and after signing for accuracy and completeness
- Represents firm at closing when attorney cannot attend
- Prepares and Issues Title Insurance Policies
- Deposits any funds required by buyers and sellers of each escrow within 24 hours of receipt
- Deposits any funds from lender or other parties of each escrow within 24 hours of receipt
- Delegates appropriate duties to other staff members
- Follows company standards and practices when processing transactions, as well as applicable state laws and guidelines
- Coordinates the closing between the principals of the file
- Returns all calls, voicemails, and emails in a timely manner
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Adheres to company policies and guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS
EXPERIENCE
Minimum three (3) years of escrow experience required.
EDUCATION
A high school diploma is required.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, INSURANCE
o Must be a Notary Republic or be bondable.
o A valid state driver’s license and automobile insurance are required.
KNOWLEDGE
o Understands escrow standards, title clearance, real estate regulations and guidelines, and document preparation.
o Comprehends pay off per diems, tax prorations, interest, and the like.
o Understands lender documents and recordings.
