Office Engineer

Job Description

Hill International is seeking an Office Engineer in San Jose, California

Daily

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Review request for lane closures and coordinates with Caltrans and Contractors
• Coordinate COZEEP requests with CHP and submit cancellation if Contractor needed to cancel night work.
• Prepare Change Notice per input provided by the RE and ARE. Change Notice shall be uploaded in Unifier for review and processing.
• Prepare Contract Change Orders per input provided by the RE and ARE.
• Process submittals in Unifier.
• Process RFI’s in Unifier. Prepare response to the RFI per input from the RE/ARE.
• Ensure that all contract documents are filed using Unifier and Caltrans filing system.
• Perform other project support duties as needed.
  
  

Weekly

• Prepare WSCD in Unifier for Scheduler’s review and concurrence.
• Request COZEEP services for the following week.
• Prepare Meeting Minutes. Provide the Meeting Minutes to RE for review and approval.
• Update the project logs such as Submittals, RFIs, Change Notices, etc.
• Prepare the documents for the project weekly progress meeting.
• Ensure that Inspectors Daily Reports are entered in Unifier.
  
  

Monthly

• Ensure that Inspectors perform and submit Labor Compliance Interview.
• Develop and review quantity calculations.
• Process Form B (Progress Payment).
• Assist the RE in preparing the project monthly report.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or civil engineering.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Rail, Transit, or Highway experience preferred.
• Proven track record of effective communication within team and with stakeholders.
• Utilizes Microsoft Office Suite (Excel and Word).
• Utilizes Adobe Acrobat.
• Valid California Class C driver’s license.
• Position is on-site in Santa Clara County.
  
  

The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $115,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
