Resident Engineer

Job Description

Hill International is seeking a Resident Engineer in Seattle, Washington

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight for General Contractor/Construction Manager (GC/CM), Design-Build, and Progressive Design-Build projects.
• Manage daily construction activities associated infrastructure.
• Oversee critical construction elements, including airfield pavements, marine structures, terminal buildings, electrical and mechanical systems, and fueling infrastructure.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the project team, contractors, and regulatory agencies such as the FAA, USCG, EPA, and local port authorities.
• Review, negotiate, and process contractor pay applications, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with contract terms.
• Manage Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, serial letters, and technical correspondence.
• Track project progress, maintain records of construction activities, and generate status reports.
• Oversee contractor compliance with permitting requirements, including environmental clearances and regulatory approvals, testing, environmental and hazardous materials testing, and special inspections.
• Perform constructability reviews and recommend value engineering solutions to enhance efficiency.
• Review and track contractor baseline schedules, progress updates, and recovery plans.
• Manage project closeout, including punch lists, substantial completion, and beneficial occupancy processes.
• Utilize Building Information Modeling (BIM), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and mobile technologies for field reporting.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, or engineering with a minimum of 5-10 years project management experience.
• Minimum of five years’ experience providing professional project/construction management and leadership on aviation and/or maritime projects.
• Experience overseeing construction activities and field staff.
• Education and experience required including training, registration, and licensure.
  
  

The salary range for this position is $130,000-$155,000. The offered salary will be based on the applicants qualifications, education, experience and work location.
