What are the responsibilities and job description for the Upper School Language Arts Teacher, position at Hill Learning Center?
Hill Learning Center is seeking an Upper School Language Arts teacher to begin in the 2025-26 school year. Applicants should possess a strong foundation in language arts strategies and an eagerness to differentiate learning to help students reach their full potential. Hill Learning Center provides the ideal teaching and learning environment through a 4 : 1 student to teacher ratio, 1 : 1 technology, a robust coaching and mentoring program, ample planning and collaborative planning time, and a personalized approach to professional growth. In addition, full-time faculty teach five of the six sections throughout the day and are granted up to two hours daily of instructional planning time. Ideal candidates must possess the following attributes : passionate about teaching and learning, compassionate, highly organized, flexible, growth mindset and a teacher-leader.

A teaching license is required. Preference will be given to candidates with : 1) a Master's degree in learning disabilities and / or ELA, and / or 2) certification in learning disabilities, and / or 3) certification in reading or secondary language arts. Experience / training with Hill programs is ideal.
Ideal candidates possess :
- Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Language Arts, Special Education or a related field (M.A., M.Ed., or M.A.T. preferred)
- 3 years of lead teaching experience
- North Carolina Teaching License (or from a transferrable state)
- Experience with teaching students with learning differences
