Overview
The Driver Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a team of drivers, ensuring that all drivers are meeting their appointment times and providing safe, reliable, and efficient delivery to our customers.

Responsibilities
-

  • Driver Coordination:
  • Effectively coordinate and schedule flatbed truck drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries.
  • Ensure appointments and permits are assigned to drivers.
  • Communication:
  • Maintain open and clear communication with drivers, providing instructions, updates, and addressing any concerns. Notifying Planner and offer solutions for issues that may arise.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as load planning and customer service, to ensure seamless operations.
  • Route Optimization:
  • Work closely with Load Planners to optimize delivery routes, considering factors such as traffic conditions, distance, and delivery deadlines.
  • Provide drivers with necessary information to navigate routes efficiently.
  • Customer Service:
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns related to deliveries.
  • Ensure drivers are aware of specific customer requirements and service expectations.
  • Monitoring and Tracking:
  • Utilize tracking systems and technology to monitor the progress of drivers and shipments in real-time.
  • Address any issues or delays promptly with customer if needed and implement solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Resource Management:
  • Manage and coordinate Driver Paid Time Off (PTO) with load planners to ensure trucks are adequately staffed and resources are utilized efficiently.
  • Compliance and Safety:
  • Ensure drivers comply with transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Address and resolve any safety or compliance issues promptly.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of driver activities, including logs, schedules, BOL’s and scorecards.

  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize workload, and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick and effective problem-solving skills to address operational issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, priorities, and unexpected challenges.
  • Customer Focus: Dedication to meeting customer requirements and providing excellent service.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and teams to achieve operational goals.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in driver management and dispatching, preferably in the flatbed trucking industry.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
  • Familiarity with dispatching software and tracking systems.
  • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year

  • McLeod: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Transportation management systems: 2 years (Preferred)
