Hillandale Farms is in search a Coordinator -Quality Control Production to join our team in Bozrah, CT Location
This position is primarily responsible for ensuring the company is consistent in adherence to required quality and food safety regulations; as well as Corporate and local policies and practices in the Production Houses.
- Daily egg sampling from Production houses and rotate houses throughout the week for sampling.
- Verify egg weights in Production Houses and maintain applicable logs.
- Visually inspect various locations of the Production houses/complexes and provide feedback as needed to Managers.
- Internal audits, as well as external audit preparation for FDA, Food Defense, UEP and Certified Humane audits.
- Assist Production Managers with problem areas and production testing requirements as needed.
- Assist with training all Production personnel regarding UEP, animal welfare and bio-security.
- Complete HACCP and SQF Practitioner training in order to verify and compile SQF records across sites in conjunction with QCS.
- Coordinate all necessary Production documentation and keep applicable logs as required.
- Assist Manager with New Hire Orientation SQF (Safe Quality Food) training, audit preparations and other tasks as needed.
- Work closely with Production Managers and personnel to prevent and resolve quality problems.
- Cross-train in Processing Plant to monitor date stamping quality and accuracy on packing lines by checking egg and stamp quality. Ensures product meets expectation based on company objectives. Monitor and inspect crack packer for percentage of cracked eggs produced as required.
- Visually inspect a minimum of 20 cases/day in various areas of the cooler as required.

Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent required. Advanced education in Animal Husbandry, Food Science or related subjects preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; bi-lingual preferred. Strong attention to detail.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with associates.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to anticipate work needs. Interact and communicate clearly and professionally at all times.
Physical Requirements
- Walking, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting, pushing, pulling and ability to lift 50lbs.
- Sight, hearing, touch and speech necessary to perform the requirements of this position.
- Possible extended hours; dusty, noisy and odorous environments.
