We love puppies and our training program is devoted to them. We're looking for a special person with great people skills to join our tight-knit team.
At Hillary’s Hound House, we train and socialize puppies from 8 weeks to 6 months old. Our training team also works closely with families and their children to ensure every puppy is happy and successful. They say it takes a Village and ours is composed of a tightknit team, our families (and their children), and our puppies.
The Details:
- 8:30am to 3:00pm, Monday through Thursday
- Starting Salary $23/hr (we actively promote great people, this is our starting salary)
- 1 week paid vacation in December after at least 6 months of full time employment - 2 weeks paid vacation in December after at least 1 year of full time employment
- Lunchtime – paid ½ hour during nap time
- Location: 781 Andersen Dr, San Rafael

What You’ll Do:
- Support and assist Hillary in training activities, work with puppies in ways that are consistent with our training and socialization practices.
- Supervise play to ensure safety, help puppies build appropriate social skills and impulse control,
- Continually monitor and ensure the safety of all our puppies,
- Help with potty training and bell ringing,
- Other training activities as assigned,
- Some clean up or maintenance includes daily opening and closing tasks as assigned.
- When deemed ready, create video recordings for clients.
- Transport our puppies in one of two minivans for outdoor training each morning,
- Occasional cleanup of puppies who love mud and water.
The Qualifications:
- Good attendance, time management, and planning skills,
- Think on your feet, kneel on the floor at times, and safely handle a variety of puppies, weighing 5 to 20 lbs,
- Excellent communication and listening skills,
- A sense of enthusiasm, focus, humor, and a positive outlook,
- Valid driver’s license, minimum age of 21 (for our insurance to cover you) and insurability at non-risk rates,
- Some experience with a puppy or your own dogs at home (we train so you don't need to have training experience)
Daily Care and Training
All of our training is reward-based. Our puppies are family and for the hours they spend with us and each day they are welcomed and cheered on by everyone on our staff.
