What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Based Therapist position at Hillcrest Children Center?
As a School Based Mental Health Therapist, you will provide compassionate care to school-aged children struggling with mental health concerns by providing support for student Individualized Education Program's (IEP) and Behavioral Intervention Plan's (BIP).

Essential Responsibilities :
Adhere to all school and Hillcrest personnel policies.
Work with school teams to address mental health and behavioral challenges.
Report daily to assigned school setting.
Complete and conduct diagnostic assessments, treatment plans, and authorizations as required by insurance payers.
Provide individual, group, and family therapy in school and home settings
Maintain consistent and ongoing communication with families to provide updates on clients' progress.
Determine DSM-5 diagnoses and use evidence-based treatment methods
Meet weekly billing and documentation expectations.
Conduct workshops and classroom management consultations for teachers and parents on early warning signs of mental health disorders.
Implement student curriculums on stress management, suicide prevention, and substance abuse.
Conduct universal screenings for early identification of mental health issues and participate in school support teams to promote student wellness.
Administer the Child and Adolescent Functional Assessment Scale (CAFAS) and other assessments.
Document and maintain accurate client contacts, referrals, and necessary information
Must respect cultural diversity and integrate family values into treatment.
Complete and review treatment and crisis plans regularly. Apply crisis management skills as needed.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive client records.
Comply with state and federal confidentiality regulations.
Maintain monthly statistics and reporting requirements
Participate in case reviews, treatment team meetings, and organizational meetings.
Qualifications :
Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, and / or a related field.
MUST have an active License in the District of Columbia (LGPC, LGSW, LPC, LICSW)
Proficient communication in English required; Spanish or another language preferred, but not required.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office required
Compliance with HIPAA regulations and knowledge of patient confidentiality issues and HIPAA compliance / regulation.
