Job Summary:
The Golf Pro Shop Assistant plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service and supporting the head golf professional in shop operations. Responsibilities include assisting customers, managing inventory, scheduling tee times, and coordinating tournaments and events. Additionally, the assistant is expected to warmly greet members and guests to enhance their experience. Flexibility and dedication are essential for success in this role.
Job Duties (including but not limited to):
- Advising members and guests on attire, golf clubs, and supplies.
- Arranging and displaying Pro Shop inventory.
- Assisting with merchandising, cleaning, and restocking.
- Recording all sales transactions and operating the point of sale system.
- Collecting greens fees and golf car rental fees, issuing receipts accordingly.
- Taking messages for members on the course and assisting in inventory management.
- Recruiting tournament participants and assisting with special orders.
- Scheduling tee times and checking in/registering members and guests for golf play.
- Assisting with special promotions and sales, opening and closing the Golf Pro Shop.
- Providing golf instruction as scheduled and attending staff meetings.
- Assisting in coordinating golf tournaments and special events.
Education and/or Experience:
- Minimum High School diploma or GED equivalent; some college preferred.
- Previous customer service retailing experience.
- Knowledgeable about the game of golf and its rules.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
