Job Summary:
As an Assistant Pool Manager, you will work alongside the Pool Manager to oversee the entire operation of the pool facility, ensuring its safe and efficient operation. This includes managing pool chemistry, coordinating safety programs, supervising staff, and maintaining compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Job Tasks/Duties:
· Supervise and maintain clean, safe, and attractive swimming facilities for club members.
· Collaborate with the Pool Manager in training and supervising staff.
· Develop weekly work schedules and rotation schedules for pool employees under the guidance of the Pool Manager.
· Assist in purchasing pool chemicals and ensuring proper chemical balance.
· Support the maintenance of mechanical equipment in coordination with the club's maintenance department.
· Provide orientation and training for pool staff.
· Enforce safety rules and club conduct.
· Assist in First Aid procedures according to established standards.
· Assist in pool opening and closing procedures.
· Attend staff meetings alongside the Pool Manager.
· Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Wellness Director and collaborate closely with the Pool Manager to ensure efficient operation of the pool facility.
Education and/or Experience:
- Lifeguard training and experience teaching swim lessons required.
- Competitive swimming experience as either a coach or athlete preferred but not essential.
- Degree in Education, Physical Education, Recreation Management or Health Sciences preferred.
- Prior experience as an Assistant Pool Manager preferred.
Licenses and Special Requirements:
- Must have current Red Cross Lifeguard Certificate
- Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) offered by the National Swimming Pool Foundation desirable.
- American Red Cross Basic First Aid required, training on AED units and possession of a current Red Cross CPR card.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Working conditions are often hot, humid, slippery and wet.
- Able to work in a busy, noisy environment.
- Ability to project voice and articulate instructions to swimmers.
- Ability to bend, stretch, walk, stand, climb stairs, and lift up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent repetitive motions.
- Continuous standing and walking.
- Tolerate exposure to chlorine and cleaning agents.
