Activities Assistant

Hillcrest Health Services is looking for a full-time Activities Assistant to join the recreation team at Hillcrest Shadow Lake in Papillion! This position will primarily work day shift with a weekend rotation and occasional evening activities.

The Activities Assistant will assist in planning, organizing, and implementing therapeutic recreation programs and individual programs for each patient based up on their leisure assessment along with completing all necessary documentation.

What does a day in the life look like?

• Develop, implement and leads group and individual recreation programs which encourage elders to exercise their abilities.
• Performs initial assessment, completes MDS, IDT summaries and care plan as needed.
• Provides 1:1 programming and sensory enrichment programs as needed per assessment.
• Works with volunteers, provides direction and positive reinforcement, which include mentoring, knowing volunteer schedules and relationship building.
• Set up of all materials for recreation programming and independent activities daily and cleaning up materials.
• Assist residents to and from planned and impromptu recreation programs using safe transport procedures.
  
  

What should I have to be considered?

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in recreational programming with the aging population or similar setting preferred.
