Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Surgical Patient Care Tech to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs
- Observe patients' progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff
- Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines
- Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties
You will work under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all duties of a PCT. Additionally, this position draws blood and assists patients with range of motion.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Competent to perform in at least two general areas of practice (cross trained and cross competent to cover more than one hospital service, role, or function)
- BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two years' experience in acute or long-term care
- Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification, or currently enrolled in nursing school
