Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care, and urology.
Responsibilities
The Medical Lab Technician functions as a professional who assumes responsibility and accountability for the performance of clinical laboratory testing that pertains to patient care and diagnosis.
- Performs routine and special laboratory procedures.
- Conducts quality control and preventative maintenance.
- Repairs minor equipment and controls inventory.
- Compiles statistical data and participates in quality assurance and performance improvement tasks.
- Participates in new employee training and proficiency testing.
Qualifications
Job Requirements
- Associates degree in Medical Laboratory Technician studies or a chemical, physical, or biological science associates degree.
- ASCP certification or equivalent required.
- Certification must be maintained without lapse during employment.
