Get to Know Your Team:
- Hillcrest Hospital Cushing is a 99-bed community-owned facility offering 24-hour emergency services, cardiology, general surgery, orthopedics, diagnostic imaging, withdrawal stabilization, wound care and urology.
Responsibilities
- Setting up and operating various types of equipment to be utilized in the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory disease and or illness.
- The therapist provides administration of respiratory specific gases and medications, and modes of therapy for the respiratory compromised patient.
- Responds to emergencies throughout the hospital. Advises on arterial blood gas results. Assists in the transport of mechanically ventilated patients.
- May assist in the ordering of department supplies.
- Takes and records verbal and telephone orders from physicians as necessary.
- Acts as a resource person to nurses, physicians, residents, interns, respiratory staff, students and other hospital staff in regard to initiation and operation of all respiratory procedures.
- May assume a Charge role in the absence of the Respiratory Supervisor.
- Takes an active part in attending departmental in-service/education programs.
- Participates in Quality Assurance programs, and participates in department and/or HHC committees. Work schedule includes working alternate weekends and holidays.
- Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Associated Degree in Respiratory Care
- A minimum of 1 year of experience
- Oklahoma CRT or RRT license (upon hire)
- BLS (upon hire)
- ACLS (within 30 days of hire)
- NRP (within 60 days of hire)
