Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the direct supervision of the Physician and the Registered Nurse.
- Responsible in performing as a primary scrub while applying principles of sterile technique.
- Demonstrates accountability in selecting, assembling, testing, and operating equipment and instruments.
- Prepare the operating room with appropriate instrumentation, equipment and supplies.
- Assembles the sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, medications and solutions needed for the procedure in an organized manner.
- Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization and reports any mechanical difficulties as needed.
- Demonstrates knowledge of decontamination, washing, assembling, wrapping, and sterilizing instruments.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
- Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technology program
- Certified through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Basic Life Support certification
Preferred Job Requirements:
- 1 year of Surgical Tech experience
