Role Overview
This position is unique as it will have the dual role of serving as the Jewish Student Life Coordinator and the Kosher Kitchen Supervisor, Mashgiach. Due to the kosher regulations and the needs of this position, this position must be a certified Mashgiach within one year of hire. To become a certified Mashgiach, the individual must be knowledgeable and observant of kosher dietary laws. This position has the opportunity to make a significant impact on Jewish student life through strategic planning, relationship building, innovative programming and ensuring Kosher options for students.
What You’ll Do
- Expand existing programs and systemized operations
- Foster connections with other student organizations, faculty, and staff.
- Lead outreach efforts, engaging with incoming students and maintain relationships with current students
- Assist with fundraising activities
- Promote and attend Hillel and Harris center events.
- Serve as the Mashgiach and oversee kosher kitchen operations
- Actively engage in culinary production through hands-on cooking and food preparation with the critical responsibility of maintaining kosher certification and compliance.
Minimum Required Qualifications
· Ability to maintain kosher standards in a kitchen setting.
Preferred Qualifications
· Advanced understanding of kosher certification processes.
