Manager of Philanthropic Partnerships

Hillel International

Role Overview

The Manager of Philanthropic Partnerships will play a pivotal role in identifying, cultivating, and stewarding movement-wide Hillel supporters. You will play a pivotal role in connecting prospective donors to key opportunities that support Hillel’s mission. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropic Partnerships, you'll be a key member of the Advancement team, contributing to the broader success of Hillel International. The position is completely remote and candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.

What You’ll Do

  • Support and grow the number of donors and gifts to Hillel International, with a focus on institutional funders, including foundations and federations.
  • Lead the creation of innovative engagement strategies and presentations to expand Hillel’s network and strengthen relationships with current donors. Collaborate with colleagues to develop new approaches that broaden awareness and understanding of Hillel, leading to increased engagement and support.
  • Prepare senior leadership, including the CEO and Chief External Affairs Officer, for donor interactions by providing comprehensive background materials, determining investment levels, hosting briefings, and supporting communication efforts by creating marketing materials like pitch decks.
  • Develop a strategic donor management process that identifies major gift prospects for core Hillel International support and program-specific funding opportunities, ensuring a seamless transition of donors to appropriate team members when necessary.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of key Leadership Experiences, such as the Hillel Global Assembly and other signature events that engage stakeholders.
  • Increase organizational visibility by staying informed on business and community affairs and attending networking events.

Who We're Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • 3-7 years of professional work experience, ideally in development roles within Jewish or secular nonprofits, higher education, or mission-driven organizations. Experience with Hillel is a plus.
  • Proven experience in preparing donor engagement marketing materials (pitch decks, presentations, written content, emails) and successfully engaging with diverse donor audiences.
  • A track record of success in:
    • Financial resource development, including executing fundraising campaigns, donor cultivation, stewardship, and major gift solicitation.
    • Building relationships with key stakeholders, both within and outside the organization.
    • Inspiring interest in diverse and pluralistic Jewish life.

What You’ll Bring to the Job

  • A strong entrepreneurial spirit—you’re adaptable, willing to take risks, and eager to learn from both successes and setbacks.
  • Active listening skills, with the ability to hear what isn’t being said and connect with donors’ passions.
  • A commitment to fostering a diversity of perspectives and ensuring all voices are heard.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities and effective project management strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a compelling presence, inspiring others to engage with Jewish life and Hillel.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and comfort interacting with diverse populations.
  • A collaborative mindset, proactively communicating and partnering with colleagues across departments and agencies.

What You’ll Receive

  • Competitive salary in the nonprofit marketplace. The salary range for this role is $60-70,000.
  • A comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, Life, AD&D, and Long Term Disability (LTD) insurance, Flexible Spending accounts, generous vacation/sick time, and parental leave.
  • Great professional development, mentoring, and skill-building opportunities
