HCEA is seeking an engineering or architecture professional with experience in building sciences, investigation, and design and repair of building envelope systems. The intent of this position is to support existing business and assist with growth and diversification of our current business.
Responsibilities :
Understand exterior wall construction project phases including but not limited to shop drawings, modeling, design development and construction documents. Conducting field review and progress inspection on designated projects. Document and maintain well written reports on project related activity. Ensure familiarity with building codes in local markets. Advise Project manager & Envelope Consultant on status, scheduling, effort of work and estimates for completion. Communicate effectively and establish relationships with clients and job-related management teams. Providing cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines / project activities are completed. Maintain detailed documents and progression of work from initial proposal through completion. Attend in-house seminars and scheduled team meetings. Maintain established utilization levels.
Qualifications :
- Minimum of 1-3 years working with building envelope inspection, development and / or engineering.
- Bachelor's degree in architecture or engineering 3-5 years' experience.
- Knowledge of broad architectural design theories / concepts and specific structural theories / concepts related to exterior wall construction.
- Experience using measurement devices.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings.
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Strong PC computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word, Adobe, Blue Beam or suitable document writing and graphic design programs.
- Must demonstrate an ability to work in a dynamic team environment, to think outside the box, and solve complex problems.
- Ability to be detail oriented as well as see the bigger picture.
