Hills Flat Lumber is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our Grass Valley, CA team. The ideal candidate will ensure timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments while maintaining excellent customer service and organizational skills. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Payables Responsibilities:
· Reviewing all invoices for accuracy which includes coding them to correct G/L (General Ledger) and location.
· Matching purchase orders to invoices, verify quantities and pricing.
· Entering invoices into accounting system.
· Communicate with vendors and customers regarding payment status and inquiries.
· Assist with preparation of payment and maintenance of vendor files.
· Assist with month-end closing activities.
· Answer and direct phone calls related to accounts payable/receivable.
· Prepare and distribute financial reports as required.
Receivable Responsibilities:
· Provide excellent customer service.
· Receiving customer payments and entering in the accounting system.
· Ensure account payments are posted on time.
· Running statements, scanning and creating copies of invoices.
· Answering customer phone calls as well as calling on past due accounts.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
· High school diploma with 2 years’ experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
· Attendance is imperative.
· Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
· Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks.
· Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and co-workers.
· Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
